Thanks to all who made this year’s race fun and successful. The weather, the turnout, the funds raised, the race itself–everything was positive. It was great to see so many teenagers adventuring and having fun in the woods.
The T3 Adventure Race is an orienteering race for high school students. Teams of 2-3 racers use maps & compasses to follow clues to find as many checkpoints as possible before time expires. The race uses a rogaining format, which is an outdoor scavenger hunt of sorts.
The race is part of Maine Adventure Race Day. On 5/14, there will also be the East Grand Adventure Race: http://www.eastgrandschool.org/adventure-race
There will be PRIZES for the top three teams, as well as the top all-girls team, the team with the best outfits, and the team from the farthest away. The prizes are from some great outdoor companies: see our Sponsorship Page for the full list and links. There will also be some additional door prizes and raffles. Also each racer will get free Elete Electrolytes, Gu Gel and Chomps, and some snacks before the race, and a free full lunch afterward, courtesy of Hannafords.
- You must PRE-REGISTER to compete!
The beneficiary will be Teens To Trails (T3), the Maine non-profit that supports outdoor activities for teens. T3’s goal is to fight nature-deficit-disorder, and to help organize and support high school outing clubs. Click on REGISTRATION to find out how to enter! The T3 Adventure Race will take place in beautiful Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, Maine, one of the original five Maine State Parks.
Thanks to the racers, volunteers, parents, helpers, everyone for making the 2010 race such a success: Check out the results page for scores and rankings.
